Website planning and implementation

The OPC served to advise the Minister of Education. Its Web site was the central communications tool for sharing information with parents and school councils.
It aimed to encourage parents to become actively involved in their children’s education by providing information on relevant issues and resources.
Initially launched in April 2001, a change in staff and board spurred a new direction to the site. NetPotential was hired to revisit the content, architecture and design, and to integrate the new government’s visual identity standards that were coming into play.
A database of over 400 external links provided parents with access to a rich set of resources. A polling function enabled OPC to get quick feedback from parents on current issues.
